V6 Camaro Breaks Cover
by CP Staff
Outside San Diego's Hard Rock Hotel, what was supposed to be a quiet, special invitation-only preview turned out to be the first salvo in the coming pony car wars.
Preliminary information about the V6 model suggests that the General will pack something in excess of 300 ponies under the hood. That should propel the Camaro onto the low six second or high five second range for the 0 to 60 romp.
Quarter-mile times in the low 14's are anticipated. Meanwhile, those looking for low-guilt driving may feel better by the expected 19 mpg city and 27 mpg highway ratings.

The exclusivity of the V6 premiere was drawn and quartered when representatives from the Jalopnik web site showed up, bringing along a GT/CS Mustang and a new Dodge Challenger.
Whether through planning or almighty coincidence, all three cars were black and resulted in a photo-op for all. The photo above is courtesy of Jalopnik. It won't be long until this is a common site in the streets of your town, and we can't wait for it.
However, courtesy was apparently something in short supply when one GM representative met up with the interlopers. Well, as George Patton would say, "L'audace! Toujours, l'audace!"
